Man oh man, things have been nutzo lately! Between my work, my home and my work at home, things are going crazy!
I am barely working because I cut back my hours for my home business. But of course, the first week of my new schedule I get called in to watch the place while the owner went out of town. In that time i had to deal with incompetent guys who have been saying they would fix the garage door at the thrift shop since the summer, but have rebroken it 3 whole times (((WOW))), and of course they didn’t fix it this time either (I’m so surprised!). They actually were there 3 times that week, and never even actually worked on it, plus I had to go through all this trouble to make sure they could get in the garage at 5 am this one day to fix it, and they were going to meet the building manager at 5 am too, but didn’t show up, so the lady was up, waiting in the snow, for over an hour before giving up. Nice guys! Then I had this crazy shoplifting lady, and then this guy Collin made me an hour late one day because he came in to spew anti-gun control crap for about an hour and I literally had to kick him out after closing. I really don’t get him, hes this 19 year old kid who I hung out with 2 or 3 times out of politeness and he now thinks we are great friends or something and comes to talk to me (AT MY WORK!) all the time about things we have nothing in common about. Not to mention, be will say tings like “Let’s go get high in the garage” at work, around people. I seriously can’t understand the logic there, I’m at work, I don’t want to get fired, I don’t do stupid teenage shit. Why does he think I would appreciate him making me look like a stupid teenager at the store I manage? I mean, he has a job, does he like having his scrappy looking friends hanging around, chatting about the stupid shit they did at some high school party and spouting their political views that are so beyond right or left; they are just plain incoherent and ill researched. Wow, talk about getting ranty… You should have seen me the night after this convo happened though, I swear I nearly had a nervous break down because of the sheer ignorance of him, and the fact that he is not especially unusual besides the fact that hes only 19. Well, I’ve ranted about this long enough, so I will just say for clarification:
I believe that protecting our children is more important that being able to own semi-automatic weapons, and we should close the gun show loop hole. I’m actually more anti-gun than that, but I know this is a gun nut country and we wont realistically get rid of all guns. I think anyone who is more upset about the thought of loosing military grade guns that no one actually needs than they are about the fact that twenty 6 and 7 year old children were mowed down in their classroom with between 3 and 11 shots into each one of them, well, they have something psychologically wrong with them and they lack a functioning conscience. To me, that is horrifying. The fact that some people are more upset about maybe loosing some of their guns is absolutely sickening. I cried for hours that night, and for days later. I don’t know how anyone can feel anything else but grief after the Sandy Hook shooting.
Well, at home, my house has been kinda falling apart. Actually, not my house, I rent, so that is kinda good as long as this place doesn’t have something happen beyond repair. It’s going in that direction. We are keeping an eye out for something comparable, but it’s hard to find a place that will allow a ton of animals with bad credit for about $400 a month. But we already lost power to our bedroom, bathroom, hallway, and cat room for a week, then the electrician told us the electric needs to be completely redone, but its not worth it on this place. Then our pipes froze and we had a flood in the laundry room, which we are working on now. If anything else major happens, they may just tear this place down. So, we decided we need to start saving some money to maybe buy some land we can put a trailer on while we build. But yeah, things are pretty nuts.
Then my home business. I just changed my hours, and right after I do my site I do all my selling on gets crazy wonky. Now I’m barely making anything on it and really can’t afford to keep going like this. Now, I’m looking at other sites and all that and trying to find something people are making good money on. Whatever, I will find a way to stay at home, I like it so much better than a full time job! So I’m going to start by cleaning my house and finding things to sell on ebay while they have free listings! Then I’m going to order lots of new product and add stuff to all the selling sites I can find. I just need to organize my life a bit first, but that will happen when I clean stuff out to sell on ebay!
Well, that’s my update. I probably left some important things out, but whatever, close enough. 🙂
Oh, I remember, we want to move out of the US! Not sure where though somewhere without a lot of gun violence.
Hello and welcome to my homemade skin care blog! I recently started getting into making my own skin products and discovered a few things:
1. Most items you need for your skin you can find in your kitchen.
2. It is much cheaper to make your own stuff!
3. It is really EASY to make them yourself!
4. Your skin will react much better to natural products.
5. All those expensive products you have been buying are actually helping to keep your skin in it’s current irritated state. The chemicals in most skin care products usually make your skin breakout, get wrinkles, feel dry… Basically, whatever it says its fixing.
So after all that, why in the world would you ever buy any skin care product (unless it is homemade by a specialist) again? Well, I won’t be. Now I use all my own products except for shampoo and conditioner, which is just because I still have plenty and haven’t gotten around to making them yet!
All the items I have made so far, my skin just loves! I think my skin looks younger now than when I was 20! I get less breakouts now and my pores are much smaller. My skin tone is really even now too!
Most skin products I make are oil based. Oils are really what makes a difference in skin care, the other products added to store bought stuff is usually just filler, fillers that aren’t too good for your skin! Now, to get started there are lots of different products you can get, but the most basic ones you should have are Coconut Oil and Olive Oil. There is a lot you can do with just those oils. Now, I know a lot of people with oily skin will think that using oils on your skin would be counter intuitive and make the oil problem worse, but that is a big big big myth! The reason you are oily is that you are using products that strip your natural skin oils, making your body produce an excessive amount. Your body needs oil, it’s why it produces oil naturally. Using oil based products are more likely to normalize your skin so you are not over producing oil, fixing your oily little problem!
So, keep an eye out for some upcoming posts! I plan on posting tutorials for several products pretty soon, including: The Oil Cleansing Method, Sugar & Salt Scrubs, Lip Balms, Face Creams, Toothpaste, Oil Pulling, Toner, and more!
Hello everyone! Merry Christmas! I hope you have all had a great Christmas like me! I’m writing this on my brand new laptop while watching a movie with my wonderful hubby; I love having a laptop!
I think in my last blog I had agreed to work 1 day a week at my job. I have worked it out that I work from 8am to 3pm on Fridays, then the rest of my week is free! I think my first big job is to work on my craft room! It is currently a guest room/storage room. We already painted it, but everything else needs to be redone. I am hoping to finish it by the end of February. I feel like I really need to dive into the working at home and blogging thing. So I’m trying to take pictures of my projects as I do them and gradually make blogs for them.
Now I have to run off to an auction, have some pie or something for me!
I’ve been so busy working and getting ready for Christmas that the actual holiday has really snuck up on me! I just got off work at 3pm today and realized, “Hey, it’s Christmas eve!”
Not a big deal though since we don’t have any big plans and my Christmas gift from Justin shouldn’t be here for a week or so. Or is it??? When I got off work I came home to find that my gift arrived very early! A shiny new laptop! This is actually not only my first laptop I’ve ever owned, but also the first brand new computer I’ve ever owned! It was surprisingly fast to get up and running, although there may have been a few setbacks due to outdated owners not knowing what they were doing… But now, not an hour later, I have entered the tech world! Now I just need one of then fancy internet phones…
I also got a special delivery tonight! A little while ago I got a “Fine Red Wine Sampler” from my brother, Austin! Plus he got me a really nice wireless mouse for my laptop! Pretty good job for him, I expected the mouse (since it’s what I told him I needed), but I was very surprised with the wine (which includes our 2 favorite bottles shipped to us later!)! Austin usually gets me something electronic, a gift card, or cash. That’s really all I ever expect from him because he really isn’t much of a shopper, except for with electronics. He never goes for something personal that he will have to choose. So for him to send me wine, and good wine at that, was a very big surprise!
My mom and grandma gave me an awesome gift too, SNOW TIRES! Well, they are technically all terrain tires, but for us in Washington with street tires, it is an amazing upgrade! We were sliding all over the road with all the snow slush and really couldn’t afford new tires, so we were excited by the gift! They work perfect too! The car feels much safer now!
We also found some homemade treats on our gate from our neighbors, and my boss gave me a $175 Christmas bonus and let me choose a Lemongrass Spa gift set from work (I got the Cucumber Foot Fetish Set). Not bad! I’m actually really wanting to use it now after talking about it!
We have several wrapped gifts from my in-laws too which we plan on opening tomorrow, so we can’t report what we got there, but it is nice to have something to look forward too!
As for tomorrow, still no clue what we are doing, but I’m sure we will figure something out!
Until then, enjoy Christmas Eve!
Well, I took the plunge and quit my job today! I agreed to try to stay for 1 day a week and to help out when my boss is out of town, but for the most part, I should be done by the beginning of the year! Time to get busy!!I have a whole house to get organized before I do much crafting! I already started by reorganizing my closet and drawers, but that’s as far as I want to go tonight. Maybe I will grab a box of craft supplies to sort though and watch The Wonder Years, if I’m really trying to be productive(ish).
Starting tomorrow, I am going to be going though the house one project at a time and completely reorganize everything. Then, come January, it will be time to work on my craft room!!
That’s the big “update” for tonight!
So, after much talking with my hubby, we have decided that I should quit my job and work on my home business full time! Which of course means I have to do the unfortunate business of quitting my job, but I will just have to toughen up and do it! I am very excited to start out on this journey though. As of late, I have been feeling my age. Not that I’m old, I’m still only 25, but I’m at the point where I think I should be moving towards my goals for life and not stuck in this paycheck to paycheck routine to just get by. I want to be proud of my work and truly enjoy it on a deeper level. So now I’m on a mission: to make more online than I have been making at my job! I will first just quit, then start trying to do a project a day and blog all along the way! My main focus is natural skin care and upcycled products. These are 2 things I really believe in and am very passionate about! Expect a lot more on that soon!!
